Use lavish designs of fabric anywhere you could. You can even use it as wallpaper if you want. Light fabric will look good for your wall paper although it would really cost a lot but using such will surely create a grandeur look for your living room. Using these two will add a Victorian touch to your living room. Using stained glass windows or stained glass accents add a bright mood in the area. The fireplace made with stone or polished marble can make your living room look classic.
Most often, a living room has a focal point like a fireplace or a television set. You can arrange your furniture around your focal point. As you do this, allow some open space for easy access when one walks into the living room. If you have a large area, you can have more than one set of sofas or conversation area to do away with an empty look. You can also use larger furniture for your space.
Your living room will be more dramatic if you place an accent wall. Modify the color to match the color of your living room. If you used cool tones, you may opt for bright teal or green for the wall accent. You may use yellow or orange if your living room has warm colors. You can use red, orange or calming dark gray for a contemporary look and burgundy, green tones and brown tones for a traditional look.
